The killer, an 18-year-old of Chechen nationality, was shot down by the police.
France falls again into terror following the discovery of a beheaded body in the suburbs of Paris. It would be a high school history professor. The perpetrator of the crime is an eighteen-year-old Chechen, later killed by the police.
Once again, the problem of Islamic radicalization is shaking the already tense French situation.
The killer, a young man hitherto unknown to French intelligence, allegedly made this terrible decision to punish the teacher, guilty of having shown his students the famous caricatures of Mohammed by “Charlie Hebdo”, probably during a course on the freedom of expression held at the high school of the Bois d’Aulne, of Conflans-Saint-Honorine. The professor had subsequently been reported to the school by some parents, not enthusiastic about his decision.
The killer literally beheaded the victim with a knife in the middle of the city streets, shouting “Allah Akbar”, following a sad and well-known death ritual. Subsequently he tried to attack the police who intervened on the spot, who opened fire, killing him. However, it seems that the attacker managed to post the sad images of his insane gesture on Twitter before being mortally wounded. The anti-terrorism authorities, who are still investigating this obscure story, have placed four people belonging to the 18-year-old’s family in custody, proceeding with further investigations.
President Macron, visiting the site of the attack, expressed his closeness to all teachers and to the whole nation, underlining that France will never give up freedom of expression.
“One of our compatriots was murdered because he taught, because he preached to students the freedom of expression, the freedom to believe and not to believe. Our compatriot – said Macron, visibly shaken by this incredible story – was cowardly attacked, he was the victim of a clear Islamic terrorist attack “.
The issue of terrorism and integration in France is still a very sore problem, which undermines the already delicate balance of this nation crossed by various economic and social twists and by the growing diffusion of the Covid-19 virus.
